My Story

I think it’s only fair that you get to know a little about me (Phil, that is).

I am in my early twenties about to graduate from a small liberal arts school. I’m motivated, interested in the world, and utterly disillusioned by my job employment experiences…

College Jobs and Associated Unpleasantness:

My first job was folding boxes for a packaging company. It was unpleasant, and lets just say it didn’t use my talents to the utmost. If you’ve never folded boxes, or stuffed envelopes full time, count yourself lucky.

Then, I got a much more rewarding job writing letters to the elderly on behalf of the governor of my state. It wasn’t the most riveting, but it wasn’t folding boxes.

Then it dawned on me. One day, I would look back on my life and realize that I hadn’t really had a rewarding profession, unless I opted out of making money.

The Dream, and Associated Reality Check:

So I’ve spent a while trying to make money with all sorts of entrepreneurial and ill conceived schemes. The ultimate goal: leaving me the freedom to work in a job I actually like, not one I am scared to leave.

This brought my boundless optimism to the idea of online ventures. They didn’t need capital, and I was relatively tech savvy. It made sense.

I haven’t done a whole lot, which you can chalk up to a lack of persistence. But I will say this: I have read a whole hell of a lot, and I’d love to share some of that with you.

The Plan for Now:

I’m not going to say I don’t want to make some money of this site, but it’s really not my goal. I want to get better at this game, just like all of you. Writing and doing is the only way to get there, so I might as well share with you.

And besides, I already bought the damned domain, so I might as well make something of it.

Drop me a line sometime, I’d love to hear from you.
